Ski rentals

Four Mountain Sports operates in 9 locations around Aspen Snowmass for your convenience and flexibility. They offer free ski storage and transfer service, and can them delivered to any of the Snowmass Mountains. Located in the main village, Four Mountain Sports at Buttermilk offers child, adult, and group rentals, with special advance purchase pricing. The store is packed with a generous inventory of skis, snowboards, safety equipment, and even uphill gear.

Ski School

Buttermilk’s reputation as one of North America’s best beginner mountains is enhanced by their educational and entertaining ski school offerings. The resort has group lessons taught by passionate and knowledgeable instructors for multiple age groups. The brand new Hideout is an integrated learning center for child group lessons. Kids aged, 2-4, 5-6, 6-12, and amateur adults can join their respective groups for a day of fun learning activities. Each group session for kids ages 5-6 and 7-12 lasts from 9:30am to 3:00pm and includes rental equipment for those ages 5-6. Adult’s beginner lessons start from 10:00am to 3:00pm and include equipment and a beginner area lift ticket. The resort also offers private lessons for those looking for a more personal learning experience. Discounts are available for advance reservations or large group bookings. Childcare is available through Aspen Snowmass at The Treehouse Kids Adventure Center. Only a short trip from Buttermilk via Owl Creek Road, the center is located at the base of Aspen Snowmass. Banking at Buttermilk is accessible & straightforward with ATM’s conveniently located at Bumps, Cliff House, and Four Mountain sports. Credit cards are widely accepted at the resort and surrounding area, and there are no limits on credit card usage in the region. Supermarket

While you won’t be able to find a supermarket on-site at Buttermilk, The Village Market Store at the base of Snowmass is a convenient option for quick grocery runs. Like most ski resort grocery stores, prices are high and selection is fairly limited. Roxy’s Market is another convenient store located across the highway next to the Aspen Pitkin County airport, with a small selection of goods as well as pre-made foods and salads. A quick trip into town presents plenty of standard grocery stores and supermarkets with much larger selections and more reasonable prices.
